Hi! I’m Miriam. I’m a Senior Solutions Architect at Pantheon, living in Canada’s national capital, Ottawa. I have been building things on the web for longer than I would like to admit. We’re talking 20 years of full-stack development before transitioning to solutions architecture in 2024, plus my Geocities days as a teenager (who remembers that?).
My speciality and expertise lies in WordPress, but I’m no stranger to other platforms and programming languages. These days I spend a lot of time helping customers figure out whether decoupled CMS is the right call for them, debugging things that break in interesting ways, and occasionally wandering into adjacent communities. I contain multitudes.
When I’m not doing web things, I teach karate to tweens, which is its own kind of debugging. I also play in two community bands, as a percussionist in one and a clarinetist in the other. Between the tweens and the concert bands, I learn a lot of new slang.
You can find me regularly engaged with the WordPress community online and at various WordCamps and events. I organize, volunteer, and occasionally speak, which is just a fancy way of saying I have a hard time sitting still.
